This unique sand dune was formed on an ancient iron mine that existed for hundreds of years. The sand here is as turquoise as desert wilderness in Africa but transformed into a multitude of images. Tam Coc Grottoes

Tam Coc-Bich Dong tourist site has a natural area of 350.3 ha, located 2 km from National Highway 1A and 7 km from Ninh Binh city, mainly located on Ninh Hai commune (Hoa Lu). Tam Coc means “three grottoes” including the First Cave, Second Cave, and Third Cave. All three caves are formed by the Ngo Dong River pierced through the mountains.
